Chapter 3: Jack of All Trades, Master of None

Inside of the labyrinth was like a maze formed by roads made of stones that look like human-made or spacious rooms linked together. Due to light-emitting crystals placed on the walls with fixed intervals, it is bright enough to see a few meters further without any problems. I continued to walk while being careful, but it seems there are no traps around.

When I arrived at a place that looks like a hall, I saw a shadow move. When I carefully observed, the owner of the shadow was a horn rabbit.

Horn rabbit is a type of magical beast that grows a horn. Even though its movement is agile, it can be defeated even by inexperienced explorers due to having low stamina.

I activated the bracelet-type magic tool that is engraved with a storage ability that was on my left wrist. After that, I made the sword stored in there appear around my right hand and grabbed it.

It’s been a while since I hold a sword.

There is no problem of falling behind since the enemy is just a horn rabbit, I decided to fight with my raw physical strength without any buffs.

When I approached it silently, it also noticed my existence. It raised its horn and head-butted me.

“Too slow.”

For me who was fighting magical beasts of lower levels or deeper levels of the labyrinth just until yesterday, the movements of this rabbit is too slow.

I drew the rabbit close to me until the last second, and then I took half a step back and dodged its attack.

I raised my sword to kill the rabbit which just went past me.

The sword moved along the line I imagined it would and it touched its abdomen, slicing it into two without feeling any kind of resistance.

The body of the horn rabbit disappeared like a black fog, and what remained there were small grains of magic stones.

“It’s been a while since I used a sword, but it looks like my body remembers it. I might have passed the safety margin. Well, since I have already come this far, let’s go to the next level.”

It was a dull fight, but since I used my sword, it was enough for me.

After that, I encountered goblins and slimes. However, they were alone so I defeated them with no effort.

While defeating the monsters, I advanced to level three without ever losing my way. Even though I said it is like a maze, when compared to lower or deeper levels, these levels are child’s play. There are too many hints like the flow of air and so on and forth.

When I arrived at level three, the enemies became multiple.

Though I say that they became multiple, they are still monsters of the same kind and the monsters of this labyrinth have low intelligence. I can defeat them without any buffs, but since I got used to the feeling of having buffs, I casted support magic on myself.
